Ghana has ushered in a new chapter in law enforcement with the swearing-in of Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the Inspector General of Police (IGP). His appointment follows the revocation of Dr. George Akuffo Dampare’s tenure, as announced in an official statement by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Presidential Spokesperson and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications.

In the statement, President John Dramani Mahama confirmed that the decision aligns with Articles 91 and 202 of the 1992 Constitution, following consultations with the Council of State.
