No-Fee-Stress: Ghana Launches New Portal to Ease Student Loan Applications for First-Year Tertiary Students.

Date:

In a major move to make tertiary education more accessible, Ghana’s Ministry of Education has launched the No-Fee-Stress Portal—a new digital platform designed to help first-year students of public tertiary institutions apply for financial assistance with ease.

What is the No-Fee-Stress Policy?

The No-Fee-Stress policy is a bold government initiative aimed at removing financial hurdles that prevent many Ghanaian students from pursuing higher education. By supporting students through the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), the policy is expected to boost human capital development and promote inclusive, quality education nationwide.

According to the SLTF’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, the Fund is fully committed to implementing the policy successfully, ensuring that no eligible student is left behind due to financial constraints.

How the No-Fee-Stress Portal Works

The newly launched portal provides a simple and user-friendly registration process, allowing students to easily enter their information online. This helps the SLTF quickly verify eligibility and process loan applications efficiently.

How to Apply

First-year students from any accredited public tertiary institution in Ghana can now register for financial support by visiting either of the following websites:

https://www.nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh

https://www.sltf.gov.gh

Need Help?

If you encounter any issues during the application process or need further assistance, you can contact the SLTF through:

• Helpline: 0302 751 020

Visit any SLTF zonal office across the country

The launch of the No-Fee-Stress Portal is a significant step toward building a more inclusive and empowered Ghana. It reflects the government’s commitment to investing in the future of its youth by removing financial barriers and promoting equal opportunities in higher education.
