Ghanaians can look forward to more data for the same cost as the Ministry of Communications announces a major upgrade in data bundle allocations across all mobile networks, effective July 1, 2025.
At a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, revealed that extensive negotiations with telecom operators have led to significant data increases aimed at giving consumers better value and improving digital access nationwide.

“I am pleased to announce that my engagement with the CEOs has resulted in the following specific measures,” the Minister stated.
Here’s What to Expect:
- AT Ghana (AirtelTigo): All data bundles will see a 10% increase. For instance, the GHS 400 bundle will jump from 195GB to 236GB.
- Telecel Ghana: Also implementing a 10% boost, with the GHS 400 bundle skyrocketing from 90GB to 250GB, a massive leap in value.
- MTN Ghana: Leading the charge with a 15% increase across all bundles. Additionally, the popular GHS 399 bundle will be restored to offer 214GB, up from its previous 92.88GB at GHS 350.
A Win for Consumers
Minister George acknowledged the financial impact these changes may have on telecom companies but commended their cooperation and national spirit.
“I am aware these increases will come at considerable cost to the network operators,” he said. “However, I am glad that our engagements and consultations are bearing fruit for the Ghanaian people.”
He also thanked the CEOs of MTN, Telecel, and AT Ghana for their support, describing the move as a strong example of public-private collaboration for national development.
Bridging the Digital Gap
These revised data packages are part of the government’s broader agenda to enhance digital inclusion, improve internet affordability, and ensure Ghanaians get more value for their money in today’s data-driven world.
