The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially released PIN codes for 132,393 graduates from 100 accredited tertiary institutions across Ghana for the 2025/2026 National Service Year. This announcement marks a significant milestone in the national service registration process, now live from June 17 to July 1, 2025.
Sharp Drop in Graduate Numbers: Here’s Why
Compared to previous years, this year’s figure shows a drastic 26% reduction in graduates eligible for national service ,the lowest in four years. Why the drop?
The NSA attributes this to stricter verification processes, increased data transparency, and a complete purge of bogus submissions.
- 2022/2023: 211,170 graduates
- 2023/2024: 176,359
- 2024/2025: 171,703
- 2025/2026: 132,393
That’s a 36% drop from just three years ago.
3,597 Graduates Left Out
Out of a total of 135,990 submissions from 122 institutions, over 3,500 graduates from 22 institutions were excluded due to lack of accreditation. These institutions are not recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). Their graduates won’t be mobilized until valid accreditation documents are provided.
NSA Urges Institutions to Regularize Accreditation
The NSA has given a 30-day ultimatum to institutions with lapsed accreditation. Institutions must work with GTEC to regularize their status to avoid future disqualifications.
