Date:

A Hidden Gem in Accra

As a tourist visiting Ghana, have you ever dreamt of watching the sunset at one of the country’s most stunning beaches? La Pleasure Beach, also known as Labadi Beach, is located on the Atlantic Ocean along the Gulf of Guinea, in the Greater Accra Region. It sits in the small town of La, from which the beach gets its name.

I remember my first visit ,watching the sun set over the horizon was breathtaking. As an admirer of nature, it felt like a magical moment.

Let’s explore the endless fun that comes with experiencing nature at La Pleasure Beach, right in the heart of Ghana, Africa.

Sunday Evenings at La Pleasure Beach

We made our trip on a Sunday evening because, in Ghana, Sundays are when beach life is at its peak! Upon arrival, we paid an entrance fee of 20 cedis per person since we weren’t staying at the beach hotel.

At the parking lot, we discovered many eateries, including grills and pubs with one named ,Saint Louis Pub and Grill and along the bay area the famous Vienna city pub and grill— sounds interesting, right? We also came across vendors selling locally made necklaces, bracelets, artifacts, and souvenirs adorned with traditional Ghanaian symbols.

Activities and the Stunning Horizon

We then headed to the beach area, and there it was ,the horizon. It was around 3 p.m., and we could already see the sun beginning to set. Watching it with an ice cream in hand was pure bliss.

There were plenty of activities to enjoy:

  • Horse back riding
  • Quad biking
  • Barbecue with a variety of meats
  • The famous chilli and eggs dish( great as a starter or dessert)
A cruise at the La-badi beach.

Safe Swimming and Souvenir Shopping

After indulging in the activities, we took turns swimming, feeling safe knowing that lifeguards were on duty. Later, we bought stunning paintings and art piecest showcasing vibrant African culture to take home as souvenirs.

Why You Should Visit La Pleasure Beach

La Pleasure Beach is truly a must visit destination for tourists exploring Ghana, as well as for locals looking to unwind. The blend of culture, nature, and adventure makes it an unforgettable experience.

Whether you want to relax by the shore, enjoy local cuisine, or dive into thrilling beach activities, this vibrant destination offers something for everyone.
